Hi! I'm JuliaA Harvard College and Yale Law School graduate, I have worked with students and families to transform their college application process since 2020. I provide tailored, one-on-one advising services for high school students as they embark on their college admissions journey.
As the daughter of Chinese immigrants, I understand that the college admissions process can be very daunting for families and parents who have never gone through the process in the U.S. I take a holistic approach to support each client, making sure that both the student and their family are supported with her advice through the process. The majority of my clients are Asian American students and families, and I work with my clients' heritage background in mind. |
How do I work with you?
After a free consultation with both the student and parents, I will set up regular one-on-one video calls with the students to prepare a college application plan. During these meetings, I work closely with the student and parents on every component of the college applications process, with a custom-made strategic approach that takes into account the student’s academic and extracurricular background, interests and experiences, and other personal considerations.
Examples of things I help students work on include essay drafting for the applications, including the common app essay; college selection; creating a manageable work plan; and other elements like art portfolios, standardized testing strategies, recommendation letters, etc. I take a comprehensive approach to the process and tailor my support to the students' individual needs.
I also offer the same support to parents. Many of my students' parents find it useful to speak with me throughout the process and ask questions one-on-one. I often provide parents with important context to the American college application process to make sure they can best support their child.

*Julia does not offer test prep tutoring but may be consulted on whether additional support is useful for the particular student.
